Saiee Manjrekar was born on December 24, 2001, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar, a renowned actor in the Bollywood film industry, known for his roles in numerous Hindi films such as “Vaastav,” “Kaante,” “Zinda,” “Wanted,” “Ready,” and “Bajirao Mastani.” In addition to his acting career, Mahesh has also established himself as a film director. Saiee’s mother, Medha Manjrekar, is a film producer and a former actress.
Saiee has a half-brother named Satya Manjrekar and two half-sisters, Ashwini Manjrekar and Gauri Ingawale. She is the daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar’s second wife, Medha. Mahesh’s first wife is Deepa Mehta.
Career
Saiee Manjrekar made her film debut with a brief role as Kushi Damle in the Marathi film Kaksparsh (2012). She gained prominence with her first leading role as Khushi Chautala in the 2019 Hindi action-comedy Dabangg 3, where she starred opposite Salman Khan. Despite the film’s negative reviews and commercial setbacks due to the CAA protests, her performance earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. In 2020, she appeared in the music video for the song “Manjha,” alongside Aayush Sharma.
In 2022, Manjrekar made her Telugu film debut with Ghani, co-starring with Varun Tej. The film, however, was a commercial disappointment. She then featured in the Telugu-Hindi bilingual biographical action film Major, a biopic of Sandeep Unnikrishnan, played by Adivi Sesh. Manjrekar portrayed Isha Agarwal, Unnikrishnan’s love interest. The film received critical acclaim and became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2022. Most recently, she appeared in Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay opposite Guru Randhawa.
