Career
Anushka Ranjan was born in Mumbai, India, to Shashi Ranjan, an actor and director from FTII and the publisher of GR8 Magazine, and Anu Ranjan, the founder of The Indian Television Academy. She has a younger sister, Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor, who is also an actress.
Anushka completed her schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School and pursued a two-year acting diploma at Whistling Woods International. She further honed her acting skills with a one-year course at The ITA School of Performing Arts, followed by a three-month course at the Anupam Kher School of Acting. Additionally, she trained in theater under Nadira Babbar and in Kathak dance under Guruji Viru Krishna.
Anushka made her acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the romantic comedy “Wedding Pullav” in October 2015, directed by Binod Pradhan. She had a cameo appearance in the film “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Shree Narayan Singh. In 2020, she starred in AltBalaji’s web series “Fittrat” as Amy, opposite Krystle D’Souza and Aditya Seal.
Apart from her acting career, Anushka is actively involved in philanthropy and serves as the spokesmodel for her mother Anu Ranjan’s NGO, BETI.
