Biography
Sameer Rizvi was born on 6 December 2003 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. During school, he joined a nearby cricket academy. He first played in a professional match on January 27th, 2020 for the Uttar Pradesh team in the 2019-2020 Ranji Trophy tournament. He only played 2 matches that season. After that, Sameer played 11 List A matches and scored 205 runs.
In 2023, Sameer became captain of the Kanpur Superstars team in the UP T20 cricket league. He made the highest individual score of 122 runs in 58 balls for his team. Later in December 2023, Sameer made headlines when the Chennai Super Kings team bought him for 8.40 crore rupees in the player auction for the 2024 Indian Premier League tournament.
