Early Life
Kriti Kharbanda was born on October 29, 1990, in New Delhi, India, into a Punjabi Hindu family. She has a younger sister named Ishita Kharbanda and a younger brother named Jaiwardhan Kharbanda, co-founder of Paper Plane Productions. In the early 1990s, her family moved to Bangalore.
Kriti attended Baldwin Girls’ High School and Bishop Cotton Girls’ School in Bangalore. She graduated from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore, and earned a diploma in jewelry designing. During her school and college years, Kriti participated in various cultural activities and appeared in several advertisements. Her presence on a Spar billboard caught the attention of NRI director Raj Pippala, leading to her acting career. Initially, Kriti had not planned to become an actress but was encouraged by her mother to pursue it seriously. Her early modeling campaigns included brands like Bhima Jewellers, Spar, and Fair & Lovely.

Kriti’s career began as a child model, featuring in advertisements for brands such as Bhima Jewellers, Spar, and Fair & Lovely. Her appearance on a Spar billboard led to her debut in the Telugu film “Boni” opposite Sumanth. Despite mixed reviews for “Boni,” Kriti’s performance was praised.
She later appeared in the Pawan Kalyan film “Teen Maar” and made her Kannada debut with “Chirru,” gaining recognition. In 2011, she had a guest role in the Telugu film “Ala Modalaindi” and portrayed retro scenes in “Teen Maar.” Kriti’s Kannada film “Googly” became a hit in 2013, earning over ₹15 crores at the box office, leading to numerous offers, including Bollywood projects.
